Drs. Scott Chapman and Carol DeFranca of Norwell Chiropractic Spine and Sports Cater to Team Everest During Great Mass Getaway Fundraiser for MS

NORWELL, MA August 12, 2004 -- Drs. Scott Chapman and Carol DeFranca of Norwell Chiropractic Spine and Sports Rehabilitation provided chiropractic and sport massage therapy to the Team Everest cyclists during the recent Great Mass Getaway fundraiser for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

The Great Mass Getaway bicycle ride from Marina Bay to Provincetown was held late June and raised nearly $100,000 for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Catering to the 33 riders of Team Everest 2004, Drs. Chapman and DeFranca were on hand at the Great Mass Getaway mid-point (and the Team Everest Base Camp) at Mass Maritime to provide chiropractic adjustments and sports massage.

"Although the Team Everest riders trained for the Great Mass Getaway, it's extremely important that they pace themselves and don't try to overextend themselves. Muscle injuries can and do occur to folks who are physically fit and it's most often due to strain," noted Dr. Carol DeFranca of Norwell Chiropractic Spine and Sports Rehab. "Our goal was to keep Team Everest in the best shape possible in order to complete the ride without injury and in top health."

Team Everest raised over $85,000 for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in the Great Mass Getaway of 2003. For more information about Team Everest, visit www.teameverest.org.
